The rosary that you are holding is made of rose petals from the Holy Land.
The fragrant scent will linger in the air.
The legend tells us about brother Joachim, who although not an educated man,
had a heart as pure as gold and good manners. At the monastery where he lived,
he was put in charge of the sheep.
Brother Joachim was content with his job and at peace. In the fields where he
tended his sheep, he could feel God's spirit. It was whispered all over country,
that the Holy Mother was watching the flock while brother Joachim prayed, as he had
never lost one sheep.
Brother Joachim was devoted to the Holy Mother and there was nothing in the world
that could prevent him from saying his prayers with his rosary. One day he forgot
his rosary at the monastery. How could he say his favorite prayers now?
Although was not learned or educated man, he had a brilliant idea. By the well where
the flock refreshed themselves, he took a handful of green leaves and tied them with
small stones in groups of ten, these he separated by small pieces of wood. Thus creating
his own rosary in the fields.
After he finished his prayers, he hung the rosary on an olive wood branch, in case he
should need it again.
Next day when he came to the well, and looked for his rosary, he was most
surprised when he noticed that in its place a garland of white roses in
groups of ten, separated by red roses. The most wonderful scent was spreading
over the fields. This was the gift from the Holy Mother to her beloved son Joachim.
The rumors spread all over the country, everyone wanted the gift of a rosary as
given by the Holy Mother, and thus rosary beads made from those petals were made.
The rosary in your hands was made in the Holy Land and symbolizes honesty, purity,
loyalty and holiness.
This rosary brings you closer to the divine providence and the blessing of our
Holy Mother, the Virgin Mary.
Amen.
